Two Women – one from Bullhead City and one from Tucson - win six-figure prizes in “Beat the Heat Giveaway” . The higher the mercury climbs, the higher the prizes rise!

PHOENIX (July 19, 2019) – With two weeks of sweltering triple-digit temperatures behind us down and two more to go, Arizona Lottery players are feeling the heat and loving it as they play the Lottery’s month-long “Beat the Heat Giveaway” second-chance promotion and watching the weather report while temperatures, and prizes, soar.

Kimberly English, of Tucson, won the first week’s top prize of $110,000 and Magda Cruz Avitia of Bullhead City saw her second chance prize in the promotion’s second week rocket to $114,000 - $1,000 times that week’s high temperature. And the next week could be even hotter and the prizes even higher!

A host of heat-themed Scratchers® and a Fast Play™ ticket, ranging from $1 to $10, give players a chance to win top prizes of up to $100,000. With two weekly drawings completed, two weekly drawings remain to award three winners either $10X, $100X or $1,000X the highest temperature recorded in each week of the promotion (July 1 – July 31). So if this week’s high is 110 degrees, the second chance prizes will be $1,100, $11,000 and a sizzling $110,000!

Here’s how it works: Lottery players can enter their eligible, non-winning tickets into the Beat the Heat Giveaway by visiting AZPlayersClub.com, or by scanning their tickets using the Arizona Lottery Players Club mobile app (available for download on the iTunes® App store and the Google Play™ store) for a chance to win. $1 tickets will receive one entry into the promotion, $2 tickets will receive two entries, $5 tickets will receive five entries and $10 tickets will receive ten entries.
