POWERBALL® to Launch Third Weekly Drawing, Starting August 23

Monday night draw means more cash prizes and bigger, faster-growing jackpots!

PHOENIX (Aug. 12) – POWERBALL® players will soon get the chance to start their week in a winning way with a new Monday night drawing! The new Monday drawing will join the lineup of Powerball drawings, currently held on Wednesday and Saturday, on August 23, 2021, at 7:59 p.m. MST.

“Powerball is one of the most exciting and popular lottery draw games here in Arizona, known for its life-changing jackpots,” said Arizona Lottery Executive Director Gregg Edgar. “Offering another drawing each week means more opportunities to play and win, and that excitement will translate into additional ticket sales supporting critical programs in Arizona that combat homelessness, support our children and crime victims, protect our unique wildlife, and grow our economy.”

Players can watch the new Monday night drawing online, in a livestream on Powerball.com.

Adding the Monday drawing will result in larger, faster-growing jackpots, with more cash prizes and jackpots awarded on an annual basis. The added ticket sales from this third weekly drawing will also result in increased Arizona Lottery transfers to fund vital programs and services across the state.

The additional drawing will not change the Powerball game, price, prize structure, or the odds of winning. For $2 players choose five numbers from 1 to 69 and one Powerball number from 1 to 26, or choose them via Quick Pick, and the set cash prizes will remain the same. The schedule for these additional ticket sales for Monday drawings will be identical to the current schedule, with sales being paused at 6:59 p.m., Arizona Time, on draw nights. Tickets purchased after the Saturday sales pause, for example, would be valid for the following Monday drawing. The Power Play® add-on feature will also be available for an additional $1 per play to multiply non-jackpot prizes.

Players can purchase Powerball tickets at all 3,000+ Arizona Lottery retail locations. For
