PHOENIX (February 21, 2017) – The Powerball® jackpot is on a roll again and players have the chance to win the 10th largest jackpot in history for Wednesday night’s draw. The record jackpot has climbed to $403 million and has been rolling consecutively since Dec. 17, 2016. Since the jackpot has reached the top ten highest, the Arizona Lottery is sharing the three most frequently drawn Powerball numbers from this past year; 3, 12 and 25.
“This is the largest Powerball jackpot that we have seen in a while,” said Gregg Edgar, Executive Director of the Arizona Lottery. “These large jackpots are exciting for our players, our retailer partners and of course, the Lottery itself. As the 10th largest Powerball jackpot, the excitement to win helps drive sales and therefore, significantly impact proceeds benefitting programs and services that serve Arizona.”
Since February of 2016, the most drawn red Powerball numbers are 3, 12 and 25. Each of these Powerball numbers have been drawn seven times!
In addition to the lucky Powerball numbers and historic jackpot, Powerball players have eight additional ways to win exciting cash prizes ranging from $4 to $1 million from the purchase of a single $2 ticket. Players can also purchase a Power Play for $1 extra for the chance to multiply their non-jackpot winnings by up to five times.
With an estimated $403 million jackpot up for grabs, Wednesday night’s winner will have the option of taking the $403 million windfall over a 30-year annuity or opt for an estimated one-time cash payment of more than $243.9 million.
Proceeds from all Arizona Lottery ticket sales benefit organizations statewide that focus on six main pillars, including Arts and Education, Community Enrichment, Economic Development, Environmental Conservation, Health and Human Services, and Public Safety.
To be eligible for Wednesday night’s drawing, players must purchase their tickets by 7:59 p.m. Arizona time. The Arizona Lottery advises players to sign their tickets immediately and check them as soon as possible to avoid missing out on any prizes they may have won.
