Where The Money Goes
The Lottery makes Arizona a better place to live and visit by funding community programs and public projects that otherwise might not exist. Every year, the Arizona Lottery supports countless endeavors that are made possible through the sale of Lottery tickets. From parks and recreation to wildlife preservation, to education and public health, to transportation and economic development, Lottery dollars are making an impact statewide.

Last year alone, the Arizona Lottery contributed almost $140 million in net profits to the state. Since its inception in 1981, the overall contribution of Lottery dollars to beneficiaries has been over $2 billion. Dollars are funneled into the communities for a wide range of programs through a variety of funds.

The Arizona Lottery makes no direct grants; all Lottery proceeds are distributed to beneficiaries according to statute. Agencies administer grants as part of their Lottery funding including the Heritage Fund and the Local Transportation Assistance Fund (LTAF). To request information about the application process, please contact the Grants and Program Manager at Arizona State Parks or the Environmental Education Program Manager at the Game and Fish Department. For information on LTAF grants, contact your City/Town Manager's Office.
