PHOENIX (July 20, 2010) — A winner has finally come forward to claim the $667,000 record-breaking Pick 5 jackpot from the drawing Saturday, July 10.
The winner, who requested to remain anonymous, purchased the ticket at a Phoenix Fry’s Marketplace located at 3949 E. Chandler Blvd.
The winner was out of town last week and didn’t find out she had won until she had the ticket scanned at Fry’s yesterday morning. She has been out of work for three months and says she cried with disbelief when she received the news.
“This was the highest Pick 5 jackpot in the history of the game,” said Jeff Hatch-Miller, executive director of the Arizona Lottery. “It was a joy meeting the winner, handing her the huge jackpot check and hearing how this win will significantly change her life.”
Drawings for Pick 5 are broadcast every Monday through Saturday during the 10 p.m. news on Channel 15 (ABC) in Phoenix, Channel 13 (CBS) in Tucson and in Spanish on Univision Arizona.
