TENTH POWERBALL JACKPOT FOR ARIZONA
Sheila Verke of Fort Mohave is the tenth Powerball® jackpot winner in Arizona; the third highest jackpot won in Arizona, worth a whopping $95.3 million. She has been playing the same numbers for the past six years – a combination of important family birth dates - and has always believed she would one day win the Powerball. And she’s been buying them from the same store: her local Safeway located at 4823 S. Hwy. 95 in Fort Mohave.
As far as Sheila was concerned, there was no rush on her part to claim the jackpot until she had a good, solid plan in place. She contacted her attorney and banker, and they referred her to a trust company. After conferring with her advisors, Sheila decided to take the cash option, which came out to $49,995,249.50 before taxes. She plans to share some of her winnings with her family and her friends who have always stood by her. As for her immediate plans, she wants to purchase a 32’ RV and chase those 75° temperatures.
