Scottsdale Resident Claims $1.2 Million The Pick Jackpot

PHOENIX (July 28, 2010) — A Scottsdale resident has finally come forward to claim the $1.2 million The Pick jackpot from the July 7 drawing.

The winner, who requested to remain anonymous, used the birthdays of family members to select his winning numbers. He and his wife have been playing the same numbers for several years, but this is the first time he has won such a large prize. He chose the cash option and plans to share his winnings with family.

“Winning $1.2 million is a life changing experience that will dramatically impact the lucky winner and his family,” said Jeff Hatch-Miller, executive director of the Arizona Lottery. “The Pick is Arizona’s own jackpot game, so it is especially gratifying when someone claims their prize.”

The ticket was purchased at an Albertson's in Scottsdale located at 6965 N. Hayden Rd.

Drawings for The Pick are broadcast Wednesday and Saturday during the 10 p.m. news on Channel 15 (ABC) in Phoenix, Channel 13 (CBS) in Tucson and in Spanish on Univision Arizona.

Players can check their numbers by logging onto ArizonaLottery.com or by calling the winning numbers hotlines at 480-829-PICK in Phoenix and 1-800-499-3798 in all other Arizona areas.  Players can also opt-in to receive winning number text alerts by texting “AZLOT” to 411247.

Players must be 21 years or older to purchase or redeem tickets. Overall odds vary by game. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, these materials may be made available in an alternate format. Gambling Problem? Call 1-800-NEXT STEP.  Please Play Responsibly. ™
